Search tweets, explore trending topics, and analyze user profiles and engagement.
Setup
Connect the Twitter / X toolkit by configuring your own API key from a supported data provider. This toolkit uses API key authentication โ no OAuth login is required.
Prerequisites
Before configuring the Twitter / X toolkit, ensure you have:
- Configured an MCP server in your toolforest.io dashboard.
- An API key from at least one of the supported providers (see below).
Supported Providers

| X (Official API) | Twitter's official API. Requires a developer account at developer.x.com. |
| SocialData | Third-party Twitter data provider at socialdata.tools. |
| TwitterAPI.io | Third-party Twitter data provider at twitterapi.io. |
You only need an API key from one provider to get started. You can configure multiple providers for additional flexibility and reliability.
Setup Steps
Step 1: Open Configuration
- Navigate to your MCP server panel in the toolforest.io dashboard.
- Locate the Twitter / X toolkit.
- Click the Configure button.
Step 2: Enter Your API Key(s)
A configuration modal will appear with fields for each supported provider. Enter your API key for at least one provider.
Step 3: Confirmation
After submitting, the toolkit status will change to Connected and you can begin searching tweets and exploring Twitter data immediately.
Managing Your Connection
Reconfigure
To update your API keys, click the โฎ (three-dot button) and select Reconfigure. You can add, change, or remove provider keys at any time.
Disconnect
To disconnect the toolkit:
- Click the Disconnect button in your MCP server panel.
- toolforest.io will delete all stored API key credentials.
