Create and manage Mochi flashcards, decks, and templates, and read your due-review queue.

Tool Reference: 15 tools with full schemas →

Setup

Connect the Mochi toolkit by configuring a Mochi API key. Mochi is a Markdown-based spaced-repetition flashcard app; the toolkit gives your AI assistant controlled access to your decks, cards, and templates through the Mochi API.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the Mochi toolkit, ensure you have:

  • Configured an MCP server in your toolforest.io dashboard.
  • A Mochi account with an active Mochi Pro subscription.
Mochi Pro required
API access is a Mochi Pro feature. Keys created on a free account are rejected by Mochi, and the toolkit will report a clear "requires Mochi Pro" error until the subscription is active.

Managing Your Connection

Reconfigure

To update your API key, click the (three-dot button) and select Reconfigure.

Disconnect

To disconnect the toolkit:

  1. Click the Disconnect button in your MCP server panel.
  2. toolforest.io will delete the stored API key.
🔒 Security and Privacy
Your Mochi API key is encrypted at rest. The toolkit reads and writes your Mochi data only when your AI assistant asks for it, and card content is never stored by Toolforest.

Good to know

  • Reviews happen in Mochi. The Mochi API cannot record review grades, so the toolkit reads what’s due but the review loop itself closes in the Mochi app.
  • Deletes are permanent. Deleting a card or deck through the API cannot be undone, so the delete tools require an explicit confirmation. Trashing a deck is recoverable, but only from inside the Mochi app; for cards, archiving is the recoverable alternative.
  • No full-text search. The Mochi API has no server-side search; your assistant browses by deck instead.
