Setup
Connect the Mochi toolkit by configuring a Mochi API key. Mochi is a Markdown-based spaced-repetition flashcard app; the toolkit gives your AI assistant controlled access to your decks, cards, and templates through the Mochi API.
Prerequisites
Before configuring the Mochi toolkit, ensure you have:
- Configured an MCP server in your toolforest.io dashboard.
- A Mochi account with an active Mochi Pro subscription.
Configuration Fields
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Mochi API Key (requires Mochi Pro) | Yes | An API key from your Mochi account settings. |

Managing Your Connection
Reconfigure
To update your API key, click the ⋮ (three-dot button) and select Reconfigure.
Disconnect
To disconnect the toolkit:
- Click the Disconnect button in your MCP server panel.
- toolforest.io will delete the stored API key.
Good to know
- Reviews happen in Mochi. The Mochi API cannot record review grades, so the toolkit reads what’s due but the review loop itself closes in the Mochi app.
- Deletes are permanent. Deleting a card or deck through the API cannot be undone, so the delete tools require an explicit confirmation. Trashing a deck is recoverable, but only from inside the Mochi app; for cards, archiving is the recoverable alternative.
- No full-text search. The Mochi API has no server-side search; your assistant browses by deck instead.
Capabilities
| Category | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Decks | List, create, rename, nest, archive, trash, and delete decks |

| Templates | List templates and read their fields for creating structured cards |
| Review Queue | Read the cards due for review on any date, overall or per deck |
