Ōura Ring

Access sleep, activity, and readiness data with daily summaries, intraday tracking, trend analysis, and anomaly detection.

Setup

Connect the Ōura Ring toolkit to your Ōura account to allow your AI assistant to access your sleep, readiness, activity, and health metrics.

Prerequisites

Before connecting your Ōura account, ensure you have:

  • Configured an MCP server in your toolforest.io dashboard.
  • An Ōura Ring paired and set up in the Ōura app.

Setup Steps

Step 1: Register for Access

  1. Navigate to your MCP server panel in the toolforest.io dashboard.
  2. Locate the Ōura Ring toolkit.
  3. Click the Register button.
  4. A confirmation popup will appear. Click Register to submit your registration.
Registration Approval
Registration may be approved instantly or may take some time, depending on current beta capacity. Check back shortly — the button will change from Register to Connect once your registration is approved.

Step 2: Connect to Ōura

  1. Once your registration is approved, the button will show Connect.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. You will be redirected to Ōura’s authorization page.

Step 3: Authorize Permissions

You will be prompted to allow toolforest.io to access specific data from your Ōura account. The following permissions are requested:

  • Daily Summaries – Sleep, activity, and readiness scores
  • Heart Rate – Heart rate time-series data
  • Blood Oxygen (SpO2) – SpO2 measurements (Gen 3+ rings)
  • Workouts – Workout sessions
  • Sessions – Mindfulness and relaxation sessions
  • Tags – User-created tags
  • Ring Configuration – Ring hardware and setup info
  • Stress – Stress monitoring data
  • Heart Health – Cardiovascular health metrics

Click Allow to grant these permissions.

Step 4: Confirmation

After authorizing, you will be redirected back to toolforest.io with a “Successful connection” message. The toolkit status will now show Connected, and you can begin querying your data immediately.

Understanding Permissions

What toolforest.io Can Access

toolforest.io requests read-only access to your health metrics to enable features such as:

  • Sleep Data: Duration, stages, efficiency, HRV, and breath rate.
  • Activity & Readiness: Daily scores, steps, calories, and active minutes.
  • Biometrics: Heart rate, SpO2, and stress levels.

Data Privacy

Your health data is retrieved only when you explicitly ask your LLM to query it. toolforest.io does not store your historical health data permanently; it acts as a bridge to fetch the specific information your assistant needs to answer your questions.

Managing Your Connection

Disconnect

To disconnect the toolkit:

  1. Click the Disconnect button in your MCP server panel.
  2. toolforest.io will remove the access tokens used to communicate with Ōura.
🔒 Note
Disconnecting removes toolforest.io's access tokens but does not automatically revoke permissions in your Ōura account settings.

Revoke Permissions

To fully revoke toolforest.io’s access to your Ōura account:

  • Open the Ōura app or visit your account settings.
  • Navigate to your authorized applications.
  • Find toolforest.io and revoke access.
